Basic Acne Fighting Methods

When you are a teenager, dealing with acne is just part of life. Knowing that we are not alone in our acne issues can help dealing them easier when we are teenagers, no matter how embarrassed we are by our “pizza faces”. As adults we are supposed to have grown out of the frequent breakouts of our puberty years. It is partly because of this belief that so many adults are thrown for a loop when the random zit or pimple makes an appearance on their faces. Nothing makes us feel like kids again more than waking up to find that we’re sporting some new spots and bumps. When you are an adult those few zits and pimples usually come with quite a bit of facial pain. Here are some acne fighting tips that you can use no matter how old you might be.

Eat Healthy

Are you eating the right foods and getting the nutrients that you need? Being malnutrition can make a lot of people experience acne. For some, acne is a warning sign that they need to change their diets and fast. The easiest way to deal with this is to take a multi-vitamin every day. Taking vitamins won’t correct your malnutrition completely but it is a good step in the right direction. The acne comes from the excess sebum that your body produces to counteract the malnutrition: it gets into your pores, clogs them and viola! Acne breakout! Eat better and take your vitamins and you should not have to worry about this kind of acne.

Seek Professional Advice

Get a dermatologist to help you. There are some adults out there whose acne is so bad they need to seek professional help to get it under control. If nothing in the store is doing the trick, then you might need a qualified professional to help you treat your acne and breakouts. You might need a prescription strength acne fighter and a dermatologist can give that to you. He or she might even discover that your acne is caused by something other than pores that have gotten clogged. Believe it or not sometimes genetics and other health conditions can be the cause of acne. Your doctor will help you figure out how to clear up your skin safely and get it healthy again.

Keep Hands Off Your Face

When you do experience a breakout or some acne, treat it but don’t pick it! Acne should not ever be subject to picking or squeezing. Leaving your acne alone is always the best idea. Though should never ever play with, pick at or pop your pimples, it is okay to gently wash your breakout with some acne fighting cleansers. It is true that acne can take a few days to heal properly. What would you rather deal with? A couple of days sporting a few spots or decades sporting spot scars? There is a wide variety of treatments available to people who suffer from acne. One person might need a stronger cleanser while another does fine with natural options. Believe it or not there are even some people who are able to cure their acne with diet and exercise. It will take some trials and failures before you find success with your acne treatments. You will learn what works best for your skin and what is better left for others. Be patient-you can have perfect skin!Posted in SelfCare Tips
