Memory CareCare and understanding when it matters mostUniversity Senior Living is ideal for seniors with mild to moderate memory loss who can still function with the aid of security, cues, and supervision. Families can enjoy the peace of mind, knowing their loved one is in a safe and caring environment. Our staff has dementia specific training, and is skilled in managing the unique challenges of caring for residents with memory impairment. Our non-intrusive security system and the low resident to staff ration provides the security and individualized care each resident needs. University Senior Living's Memory Care unit provides residents with a therapeutic milieu, creating an environment that encourages stimulating and goal-directed activities each day. We work with seniors on a one-on-one basis to encourage them to continue to have meaningful interactions in their community. Seniors may also choose to assist staff with chore-related tasks such as folding laundry, vacuuming, and gardening. Other offerings include sensory stimulation, reminiscing, and usage of the relaxation station. At University Senior Living, we also encourage our residents to participate in regularly scheduled fitness classes, arts and crafts, pet therapy, concerts and musical programs, and opportunities to interact with university students and children of all ages. Remaining engaged in the life of the University Senior Living community contributes greatly to our residents' self-esteem and wellness. |
