Acne Fighting Tips That Work
Many people wouldn’t ever want to deal with acne. It can be a source of frustration and embarrassment. If you have constantly battled acne for years, you’ve probably got all sorts of products in your cabinet designed to prevent and treat acne. You may have also read a lot of skin care articles. But if what you want is skin that’s free of acne, complex routines and a bunch of chemicals aren’t necessary. What you need are the basics. So in this article, we’ll share with you a few of the basics.
Consult a Dermatologist
A dermatologist should take a look at your acne. Getting a zit now and then is one thing, but having actual breakouts as an adult is entirely another. If you’ve got a bad case of acne, you should have a dermatologist check your acne condition. What your dermatologist will do is evaluate your acne problem and then determine the best treatment to give you. Your dermatologist can write you a prescription for a stronger cleanser if the ones you’ve tried in the past have never worked for you. And if your acne problem requires certain treatments, your dermatologist can do those for you. A dermatologist will be able to figure out what the root cause of your acne is. Look after the skin on the rest of your body. Acne doesn’t just appear on the face. Your back can have zits too. When you’re washing, go for a body wash that’s gentle and non-abrasive. You need to be wearing clothing that’s lightweight and allows your skin to breathe. Wear soft fabrics like cotton instead of rough scratchy fabrics like wool or flannel.
Choosing Beauty Products
Use only the most gentle cleansers, toners and moisturizers. You might think that your skin will benefit from the heavy duty products. You may mistakenly think that the burning sensation from the harsh stuff is good for the skin and better than the gentle formulations. However, your skin is so much better off using milder skin care products. Remember, your skin deserves gentle treatment. The skin on your face is highly sensitive, way more sensitive than the skin on the other parts of your body. You need to treat your facial skin as gently as possible. Did you use salicylic acid when you were a teen in order to deal with acne? It may have worked before, but you shouldn’t count on it working now that you’re an adult. It will simply burn your skin.
“Too simple” is what you’d probably think of the things involved in properly looking after your skin. How could the basics be great if we’re overrun by hundreds of skin care products today? The truth is that those products sell because they have good marketing campaigns. If you want to keep acne away, it’s best to get back to the basics. Use what we’ve talked about here to clear up your skin.Posted in Health
